Guild Progression and Activities
I believe Guilds/Communities need to find a ways to grow. Perhaps, as your friends participate in game activities like world bosses, dungeons and the like They all contribute to the guild's XP. As the guild grows up, they unlock small bonuses in the form of passive bonuses and access to features of the guild like the guild bank, extra slots (that can be purchased instantly using gold in-game as well as real cash) and some cosmetic rewards, perhaps you can have a guild hideout at maximum level, where you can have all your crafting stations and important merchants together The ideal scenario is that all the merchants and stations need been unlocked using gold, as that will add an attractive gold sink to the upper tier of the player base.
At the highest level, the guild could unlock the capacity to spend massive amounts of gold in the guild bank to fund guild-related events. For instance they could design an exclusive 1h gold or magic find bonus for all guild members (a message of the day is ideal to let everyone know about the upcoming events).
While I'm not a fan of playing multiplayer a requirement in D4 as well as the fact that there's unsoloable content (because the majority of content from earlier Diablo games can be played solo).. It's evident that the game doesn't really care about the solo-minded gamers like me in D4... thus I'm going to take it as is as I think of ideas, but I do realize that I don't ignore anything connected to multiplayer or pvp. This is why I think guilds should be able to participate in Raids.
As an individual player, I don't need Raids to include any loot only available for raids, since that means I'll never be able to get it. I'm also not happy in putting real-life items in solo or games that are multiplayer. Players should be able play the game as they like and nobody should be compelled to play solo or in multiplayer. Every item that is functional is available to every single player and by every group or guild player as it's a Diablo-based game not a full-blown MMO. However, I'm ok with cosmetics I think the chance of obtaining gear should be greater when playing raids. Raid. I believe raids need to be time-gated or restricted in some other manner, as guilds don't need to feel compelled to repeat raids repeatedly all the time and not pay attention to the game as raids are more effective. Perhaps organising or unlocking a raid event will require a lot of money and raids should be restricted to being able to run each raid only once a week. Also, of course every Raid should have an option to play solo, just like all other games. The group game is always simpler and more efficient overall.
Diablo games, however, it was always possible to solo and that's the main aspect of Diablo that should not be altered.
For those guilds with a fervent commitment There is a ways to boost the difficulty of these raids, to challenge their abilities. For instance, having the ability to utilize many resources (crafting mats as well as gold, and perhaps some materials dropped during regular raids) to create a specific Dungeon/Raid key that dramatically improves the level of difficulty and rewards. Remember that I've previously stated that raids need to be restricted in some way, and I suggested one option is to create a time-gating system however, before you start getting all upset about the time gate (I realize how much many dislike it , so I'm going to reiterate something here) be aware that this is only one instance. I've seen a lot individuals favoring limits on resources rather than cooling downs in the case of capabilities, which means that raids might require a significant amount of resources, instead of being time-gated.
I'm not sure of the size this guild structure will actually be when it comes to D4 however, I believe that since the game can handle many players simultaneously (world bosses) There could be some sort of guild vs. guild PVP. There won't be two full guilds fighting against one another, but rather selected teams by the guild. Include a leaderboard for guilds pvp to the mix and I'm sure many pvp players will find it thrilling. A leaderboard for guilds for completing dungeons or such is also a great idea.
